Teen Health Fair a success

The first-ever Teen Health Fair held recently at GSHS was a big success. More than 200 sophomores received quality one-on-one counseling in the areas of fitness & nutrition, substance abuse, and reproductive and mental health. Many providers donated their day to offer guidance and resources. The Teen Health Fair committee would like to thank the following for their support:

Valley View Hospital, Pediatric Partners, Mountain Family Health, Glenwood Medical Associates, Planned Parenthood, Colorado West Counseling, Red Mountain Adolescent and Family Center, Storm King Case Management, Roaring Fork Family Resource Center, Transitions Counseling Center, VVH Health Management Resources, VVH lab, SHS, Safeway, Uncle Pizza, Beau Jo's Pizza, Domino's Pizza, Glenwood Springs Community Center, and the Re-1 school district.

Spectacular Spooktacular

The city of Glenwood Springs Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank everyone for coming out to the Community Center for our annual “Spooktacular” Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 31.

To produce the Spooktacular, Parks and Rec joined forces with the GSHS Anime Club, FBLA, Percussion Ensemble and the United Cultures Club of Carbondale, as well as many other volunteers from around the community.

Special thanks go out to our title sponsors, Bighorn Toyota and Swire Coca Cola USA for making this event possible.

Also, thank you to our other community sponsors including McDonald's, Wendy's, Qdoba, All Kids Dental, Big John's Home Improvement, Zheng Asian Bistro, Colorado Mountain Express, Domino's Pizza, Tequila's, Fiesta Guadalajara, the Brew Pub, Glenwood Caverns, Grease Monkey, Ramada Inn, Safeway, Subway, and Smoothie King for donating tons of prizes and other goodies.

Once again thank you to all of our participants, volunteers and sponsors for making this event a huge success. We hope to see you all again next year.
