Elk Dinner
The Saint Mary of the Crown 32nd annual elk dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m.Dinner includes elk, turkey and this year pork, potatoes, rolls, Jell-O salad or cole-slaw, vegetables, homemade dessert

Unique Boutique
The Unique Boutique Christmas arts and crafts show will be taking place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Masonic Lodge, 9th and Colorado, across from the Glenwood post office.This is one of the oldest shows in the valley, with many local artisans. This year will feature a holiday bake sale fund raiser sponsored by Graham Mesa Elementary students and staff. The Valley View Hospital Auxiliary will hold their annual quilt raffle. Fundraiser for cancer victim
There will be a benefit fundraiser for Lewis “Shane” Lent on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. at New Castle Burning Mountain Bowl.Lent, who is a father of two, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
There will be bowling, a silent auction and music by a local band. Proceeds will go to the Lewis “Shane” Lent donation account at Alpine Bank. If people can't attend the event, donations can still be made to the Alpine Bank account.

Labor history, as seen from Redstone
The Redstone Castle will be host to a book signing and conversation with writer Darrell Munsell, resident of Redstone and author of “From Redstone to Ludlow: John Cleveland Osgood's Struggle Against the United Mine Workers of America,” from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.
Haden Gregg fundraiser
A “Hip Hop for Haden” benefit and fundraiser for longtime local musician Haden Gregg, will take place from 2-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Two Rivers Cafe in Basalt.Haden recently had double hip replacement surgery and is recovering well enough that he will perform at his own benefit, according to organizers.
Also performing will be Dan Forde, Foster Timms, Jimmy Ibbotson, Sandy Munroe and the Ferlie Friends, Twirp Anderson, Harley Ellis and the Ramblers, Steve Skinner's Stimulus, Pastor Mustard and the Family Atomics, H3 with Bobby Mason, The Great Divide (with former members of Take the Wheel), Starwood, The 40-Year Band (musicians that have played in Aspen over the past 40 years), Nightplane, Smokin' Joe Kelly and the Gypsies, Harleywood and closing the show, Big Daddy Lee and the King Bees.
There will be live and silent auctions that will include guitars signed by Jimmy Ibbotson, Jimmy Buffett, John Oates, Nightplane, Starwood and Big Daddy Lee, plus gift certificates for dinners from local restaurants and more.
Admission will be $20 at the door. The ticket price includes dinner prepared by Rick Kane of Two Rivers Cafe. Donations can be made at any Alpine Bank under the name of the “Hip Hop for Haden Benefit.”
