Girl dies after ski accident at Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE (AP) — A 14-year-old Colorado girl has died after an accident on an intermediate trail at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The resort says ski patrol was summoned to the trail at 11:48 a.m. Friday. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The resort didn't release the girl's name or details on what happened but said she was wearing a helmet.

Coroner's officials planned to release more information later.

KMTS hosts Sheriff forum

Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario will be on the radio, fielding questions from the community. He will be on KMTS Radio at 12:30 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 23 on the KMTS Connections program.

‘The Wiz' continues this weekend

Defiance Community Players musical production of “The Wiz” continues at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 21, and on Sunday, Nov. 22 for a 2 p.m. matinee, in the Jeannie Miller Theatre at Glenwood Springs High School.

Tickets are $15 for adults, and $12 for students under 18 and seniors $12. The Sunday matinee performance is $10. Tickets are on sale at Glenwood Springs locations, including the Glenwood Chamber Office, 1102 Grand Ave., and Mountain Valley Textiles and Gifts, 209 Eighth St.

Remaining tickets will go on sale one hour before the shows in the ticket booth at the high school.

Dorsey memorial fund

A memorial fund for Taylor Dorsey has been set up at local Alpine Bank locations. Dorsey died unexpectedly on Nov. 5 in Denver. He was the son of Mike and Joelle Dorsey of Silt.
