DENVER, Colorado — Kenzie Kuhn scored 21 points as Glenwood Springs' girls basketball team rolled to a 62-25 win at Denver Christian on Friday.
Lexie Warkentin scored 15 points and Sarah Treese had 10 for the Demons, who improved to 3-4.
Glenwood put the game away early with its press.
“We came down and made a basket and then just started pressing,” Demons coach Bryan Derby said. “We were working on a lot of things tonight. We worked on getting rebounds, getting the outlet pass and running. They did a good job with it.”
Next up for the Glenwood Spring girls is a 1 p.m. trip to Platte Canyon this afternoon.

Glenwood boys downed by Denver Christian in OT thriller
DENVER, Colorado — Glenwood Springs' boys emerged on the short end of a 63-61 overtime heartbreaker at Denver Christian on Friday.“It was a good game between a couple scrappy teams,” Demons coach Greg Hire said. “The difference was we had quite a few turnovers and a lack of rebounds. They pretty much outrebounded us.”
Glenwood dropped to 4-4 with the loss.
Rust leads Rifle boys to victory
MONTROSE, Colorado — Tyler Rust's 28 points lifted Rifle to a 71-65 boys win over Palisade in Friday's Black Canyon Tourney opener at Montrose.Rian Creech added 11 points and Tyrel Lenard scored 10 for the Bears, now 2-2.
Bear girls edged by Fruita
MONTROSE, Colorado — Cortney Cordova scored 19 points and Ciara Euler added 15 for Rifle's girls in a 66-61 loss to Fruita at the Black Canyon Tournament in Montrose on Friday.“We just got into foul trouble,” Rifle coach Stephanie Heald said. “They went 21-for-25 at the line. If it wasn't for that, I think we could have had it.”
The Bears (2-3) play Pueblo West and Montrose as the tournament resumes today.
Cardinals split with Longhorns
BASALT, Colorado — Grand Valley's boys defeated host Basalt, 57-47, on Friday. The Cardinal girls, meanwhile, lost a heartbreaker to the Longhorns, 44-42.
