Glenwood Medical Associates recognized
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) “Performance and Practices of Successful Medical Groups: 2009 Report Based on 2008 Data” identified Glenwood Medical Associates P.C. as a “better performer” because of superior operational performance compared with similar medical group practices nationwide. GMA continues to be a better practice performer with cost management and patient satisfaction. This is not the first year that GMA has been recognized for this outstanding award. In fact, GMA has been a better practice performer for the last five years and consistently continues to achieve this standing. Glenwood Medical Associates has been providing health care in the region since 1955.
Timothy Burns, chief administrative officer, wants to specifically recognize Joe Wright, vice president and financial director, as well as Ginger Shroll, patient financial services manager and information systems director as key players in achieving this success. “Thanks to Ginger Shroll and Joe Wright's perseverance and ability to look into the future, our organization continues to exceed benchmarks in the industry. I am proud of their success, and the success of our health care organization,” Burns said.
The MGMA report, a benchmarking standard among medical groups for more than a decade, was produced using data from respondents to the “MGMA Cost Survey: 2009 Reports Based on 2008 Data” as well as data from a questionnaire that assessed management behaviors, practices and procedures of better performers. The report profiles medical practices that have demonstrated success in one or more areas: profitability and cost management; productivity, capacity and staffing; accounts receivable and collections; patient satisfaction; and managed care operations.
