The Glenwood Springs Post Independent Inside Business section is a free service for local businesses to communicate good news and important changes to their operations. The section is published every Monday. Businesses have two ways to participate:• Business Briefs: Short items with key information about new businesses, business expansion, promotions, new staff members, new staff certifications, trade group or professional awards, new locations, and expanded services. Photos are welcome. See guidelines below.• Meet Your Merchant Q&A: This is a one-time option for your business to have a feature photo and Q&A on the lead page of the Monday Inside Business section. See guidelines below.• Advertising options: Businesses may reserve advertising space for this section, whether they are submitting a business brief or not. Ad space is offered on a first-come basis, and can readily be bundled with targeted advertising on PostIndependent.com. Contact Julie Carruth for details: firstname.lastname@example.org or (970) 429-9172.
1. If you use this section correctly, it will help your business. Please be sensible, of course, but don't think any news about your employees or business is "not important enough." If you have made a change or achieved a goal that you find yourself telling others about, chances are it could be useful information to other businesses in the region contemplating similar changes. Position your business as a leader.2. We know you're busy, but be a squeaky wheel with your colleagues and employees. Other businesses that regularly appear in the Business Briefs section ask the employees already handling internal memos and celebrations to also include Inside Business in their regular work routine. Businesses that publicly celebrate their employees also find it easier to hire and recruit quality people. 3. Spend time with the Meet Your Merchant Q&A. It's not a trick. We're really offering businesses a feature photo and article, but we need your help to supply quality content for the page. You'll find it easy to fill out the form, but take time to carefully craft your answers for the Q&A section. Arrange for a top-quality photo of your staff in a pleasant setting. To submit a package that's of the quality we seek, you may want to consult with one of our community's marketing agencies. If we see any opportunities for improvements, expect a couple of suggestions from us.
