Sons of American Legion golf tourney is May 21 at River Valley Ranch
The 16th annual Sons of the American Legion golf tournament is slated for Saturday, May 21, at River Valley Ranch Golf Club.The tournament kicks off with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The cost is $100 per person (must pay at time of sign-up).

The volleyball court at Chomp's Deli in Glenwood Springs is now open to the public any time.League play starts May 19 and the cost is $15 per four-person team. Matches begin at 5 p.m. every Thursday. Any skill level is welcome.

Oyster Off Road Adventure Race returns to Glenwood Springs on May 21
Bringing the sport of adventure racing to the mountain town of Glenwood Springs, the Merrell Oyster Racing Series is returning the Oyster Off Road Adventure Race on May 21.The race, which will benefit the Rotary Club of Glenwood Springs, challenges teams of two to four participants to push their physical limits in some of nature's most pristine playgrounds.
The Oyster Off Road offers adventure aficionados of all skill levels a race that features the classic disciplines of mountain biking, trail running, orienteering and a water element, as well as a number of surprise challenges such as trivia, brain teasers and stunts.
The secret course is revealed to racers just moments prior to the event. The team that can combine the right amount of athleticism, endurance and cerebral teamwork wins. The race covers 10 to 20 miles in two to four hours.

Demons youth hoops camp is June 6-9
The 2011 Demons youth basketball camp is slated for June 6-9 for players entering the fourth through ninth grades.Fourth- through sixth-graders meet from 9-11 a.m. each day and seventh- through ninth-graders meet from noon to 2 p.m.
Camp instruction will emphasize the following: positive team attitude, motivation and goal setting, shooting, passing, ball handling, defensive concepts and total player development.
The cost is $50 and enrollment is limited to 100 campers per session. Early registration is highly recommended as walk-in registration is not guaranteed.

Roaring Fork basketball camp is June 13-16
Roaring Fork High School is hosting an individual/fundamental basketball camp from June 13-16 for girls and boys in the fifth through 12th grades. To register, contact Roaring Fork coach Larry Williams at 355-4554.
Lady Titans hoops camp is June 13-16
The Coal Ridge Lady Titans Summer Basketball Camp is slated for June 13-16 at Coal Ridge High School.The four-day basketball camp is designed to work on your player's basketball skills. Players will run through drills that will help them develop their offensive and defensive fundamentals.
The sessions of this camp will be run in a fashion similar to a regular high school basketball practice. Players will work with the Coal Ridge coaches and players.
Middle-schoolers (students entering the fifth through eighth grades) will report from 9:30-11 a.m. daily, while elementary-schoolers (first through fourth grades) report from 11 a.m.-noon.
The cost is $40 per player and campers should wear basketball or running shoes and bring a water bottle.
