GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado — Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has opened most of its seasonal attractions for the year, including the new 70-foot bungee jump. The park will celebrate the opening of the Bungee Jump at the Summer Kick-off Party on May 27 but is offering locals a chance to try it out for half price — two jumps for $20 — through Thursday, May 26. The two jumps can be used by the same person or two different people.
Guests must weigh between 80 and 240 pounds to use the bungee jump, and a liability waiver, signed by a parent or legal guardian for minors, is required.
Other attractions, including the Giant Canyon Swing, bungee trampolines, GiddyUp! Western ride, Fort WhereAmI maze, the mechanical bull, Discovery Rock gemstone sluice box mining and geode cutting, climbing wall, and Mine Shaft Shootin' Gallery are now open for the summer. The wagon ride and new Soaring Eagle Zip Ride will open soon.
The Alpine Coaster, 4D Motion Theater, laser tag arena, cave tours, General Store gift shop, Lookout Grille and Iron Mountain Tramway are open year-round.
“There are a lot of exciting things happening at the park this year,” said Steve Beckley, who owns the Adventure Park with his wife, Jeanne. “The host of the Travel Channel's Bert the Conqueror television series is coming to shoot an episode on the Giant Canyon Swing this week and we're expanding our Music on the Mountain Concert Series to nine events this year to provide even more support for the LIFT-UP food pantry.”
The Adventure Park is offering a day pass again this year that includes a ride on the Iron Mountain Tramway, general admission, and unlimited access to most top-of-the-mountain attractions. The pass is $42 for adults and teens or $38 for kids 3-12.
Other pass options include the annual tram pass and the annual thrill pass.
Glenwood Caverns is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Longer summer hours begin Friday, May 27.
The first Music on the Mountain event, the Summer Kick-Off Party and “Can for a Tram” concert to benefit LIFT-UP, featuring live music by The Missing Link Band, will be on Friday, May 27.
