Editor's note: The Garfield County Sheriff's Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Violation of court order: Deputies stopped a motorist at Stone Quarry Road and Valley View Drive in Battlement Mesa at 4:25 p.m. on July 7. In searching the vehicle, they found a loaded handgun and several large knives. The driver, Cody Aaron Farr, 21, was arrested on suspicion of violation of a court order and cited for having his vehicle's license plates improperly attached. He was later released on bond.
Harassment: Deputies were called to a disturbance on Highway 6 near Rifle at 3 a.m. on July 8. They arrested Dennis Justin Hibpshman, 22, of Rifle, and Jesse D. Gross, 24, of Rifle, on suspicion of harassment.
Warrant arrest: Deputies located a man wanted for a probation violation on County Road 333A at 10:13 a.m. on July 8. Ivan Carrol Marzolf, 41, of Parachute, was arrested on the warrant.
Marijuana: Deputies contacted two people standing outside a vehicle on the Highway 82 frontage road south of Glenwood Springs at 2:13 a.m. on July 9. Eric Robert Jensen, 26, of Glenwood Springs, was cited for possession of less than two ounces of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
Domestic violence: Deputies were called to a disturbance at a mobile home park east of Rifle at 11:46 a.m. on July 10. They arrested John Adam Arcos, 20, of Rifle, on suspicion of criminal mischief, child abuse, harassment, obstruction of telephone service, violation of a restraining order, driving under the influence, and driving with a revoked license for habitual traffic offenses.
Criminal mischief: Deputies were called to I-70 after receiving a report of a domestic fight in a vehicle traveling on the highway at 3:30 p.m. on July 11. Carrie Anne Higgins, 28, of Kansas City, Mo., was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief.
Counterfeit documents: Deputies stopped a motorist in the 1000 block of County Road 346 south of Rifle at 3:12 p.m. on July 12. The driver, Cristian Antonio Ayala-Alfaro, 30, of Rifle, was cited for speeding 10 mph over the limit and driving without a valid license. A passenger, Carlos Maricio Flores-Alfaro, 28, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of possession of forged documents. He was later released on bond.
