Tell us why and how you got into this business: We get asked why we do what we do a lot. We lost our own father in November 2008 to a massive stroke. During the time he was ill, we decided as a family to take on his care along with hospice. Everyone gets terrified at hearing the word hospice but we cannot imagine having gone through this without them. They were so compassionate and comforting.

It was a deeply emotional and stressful time, and as most employers do not give extended time off in these situations, soon we were all jobless or close to it. It was a long 5 months, but we were there day and night, five sisters, taking shifts to allow each other to eat or sleep, neither of which was easy to do. We did this 24/7, a choice we still stand by and will never regret.

Having gone through this, we understand that families who take care of parents, grandparents, etc., could use a much-needed break or relief of guilt for simply having to go to work. These families, like our own, are the reason we do what we do.

What services do you provide? We are a state-licensed and Medicaid-certified homecare agency. We are a family-owned business providing compassionate care to the elders of our community, the disabled, or people that just need some help.

We do light housekeeping, prepare meals, laundry, errands, and shopping. We can also provide people at-risk for falls or someone that might need help and are not able to get to the telephone an electronic monitoring device. It is a button a person wears in case an emergency occurs. We have medication dispensers which can hold 30 days of medication organized to dispense at scheduled times. All of this helps to keep people independent and remain living on their own.

One of the most requested services we offer is respite care. This provides a break for the current caregiver which is usually a family member. This can be a few hours a day to 24 hours a day.

What can your clients expect from you? The family experience is the thing that has drawn us to this business. And as such, it is our desire to provide the best care possible and make it so that our client can achieve their wish to remain at home. Our dedication to listening closely and assessing the services that a client and their family may need give us a unique insight on what can be done to help.

As a customer you should expect our full cooperation and a courteous attention to all details. We will strive to accommodate the desires of client and family concerns.
