The Orchard (previously The Church at Carbondale) will offer two Christmas Eve services and festive celebrations on Saturday, Dec. 24. Candlelight celebrations will be held at the church at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. A live nativity re-enactment will be held at the outdoor amphitheater on site at the church at 6 p.m. This nativity reading comes to life with live actors and traditional Christmas hymns. All are welcome.
The Gathering Center will be open on Dec. 24 from 4:30-8 p.m. Hot chocolate, cookies, cakes and lattes will be available. Patrons are asked to bring a plate of Christmas cookies to share at the Gathering Center.
There will not be a Worship Gathering on Sunday, Dec. 25, but a Worship Gathering will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1.
The Orchard is a nondenominational church.
Mountain View Church will have two Christmas Eve Services on Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Child care is provided for infants to 24 months. Each service will include beautiful Christmas music and a meditation from Pastor Dave Pearson on "Christmas is a Good Time for HOPE." The services will conclude with the traditional "passing the light" candlelight ceremony. There will not be a service Christmas morning. St. John's Episcopal Church, First and Main in New Castle, will have a Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24. Christmas Day service will be at 8:15 a.m.
New Hope Church will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. at Coal Ridge High School.
Christmas Day Communion Service will be at 10 a.m. at Coal Ridge High School.
The First United Methodist Church at 824 Cooper Ave. in Glenwood Springs is holding two Christmas Eve services. At 6 p.m. will be a family service with communion and candle lighting. At 8 p.m. will be a traditional service, also with communion and candle lighting.
On Christmas Day there will be a 10:30 a.m. service.
