Editor's note: The Garfield County Sheriff's Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a call of criminal mischief at 9:45 a.m. on March 7 in the 700 mile of County Road 116 outside of Glenwood Springs. The case has been closed pending further leads.
Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a criminal mischief call at 2:04 p.m. on March 7 in the 200 block of East Carson Circle in Battlement Mesa. The case is closed pending further leads.
Theft: Deputies were advised of a theft that had occurred at Coal Ridge High School at 2:23 p.m. on March 7. At this time there are no suspects and no leads.
Theft: Deputies took a cold theft report at 9:56 p.m. on March 7 in the 300 mile of County Road 261 outside of Silt. At this time the case is closed pending further information.
Menacing, criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a disturbance call at 12:30 a.m. on March 8 in the 5400 mile of County Road 226 outside of Silt. A 17-year-old boy was subsequently cited for menacing and criminal mischief.
Criminal mischief: Deputies responded to a possible disturbance at 1:24 p.m. on March 8 in the 100 block of Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa. Christopher A Enlow, 22, of Parachute was issued a summons for criminal mischief.
Possession: Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle at 1:51 p.m. on March 8 at exit 111 on Interstate 70 west of Glenwood Springs. During the contact, Martin Francis Killroy Jr., 63, of Glenwood Springs, was found to have marijuana in his vehicle. Killroy Jr. was released on a summons for possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana.
Dangerous dog: A deputy responded to an animal complaint at 6:21 p.m. on March 8 in the 100 mile of County Road 332 near Rifle. A summons was issued to Jonathan M. Brown, 40, of Rifle for unlawful ownership of a dangerous dog and a dog at large.
Driving under restraint: Deputies stopped a vehicle at 3:37 p.m. on March 9 in the 500 mile of County Road 319 outside of Rifle for a traffic violation. The driver, Joseph Jarl Waggoner, 21, of Grand Junction, was cited for driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded.
Domestic violence, child abuse: Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at 10:18 p.m. on March 9 in the 6600 block of County Road 214 outside of New Castle. Jordy Z. Adamson Jr., 49, of New Castle, was subsequently arrested on charges of second-degree criminal tampering, criminal mischief, domestic violence and child abuse and booked into the Garfield County Jail.
Warrant arrest: At 8:41 a.m. on March 10, deputies responded to an accident on Transfer Trail outside of Glenwood Springs. Deputies took Adam Michael Vincent, 24, of Carbondale, into custody on a warrant and transported him to the Garfield County Jail. He was released on bond.
Warrant arrest: At 2:58 p.m. on March 10, deputies arrested Raymond E. Ramos, 34, of Rifle, on a warrant in the 200 block of West Carson Circle in Battlement Mesa. Ramos was transported and booked into the Garfield County Jail.
Driving under the influence: Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction at 10:41 p.m. on March 11 in the 500 mile of County Road 221 outside of Rifle. After investigation, Fred F. Schibi, 64, of Rifle, was issued a summons for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a Rifle man on Highway 13 at 2:56 a.m. on March 18. Anthony Leon McDaniels, 36, of Rifle, was found to be wanted on a Garfield County warrant for failure to appear. He was booked into the county jail and later freed on bond.
Driving without a valid license: A deputy contacted a motorist at West and Fourth in Rifle at 8:45 a.m. on March 18. Randy Blaine Murray, 55, of Rifle was cited for driving without a valid driver's license and with phony license plates. The vehicle was impounded.
Theft: Deputies received a report at 11 a.m. on March 18 of a handgun that had been stolen some time earlier in the Rifle area. The case is under investigation.
Vandalism: Deputies were called to the Grizzly Creek Rest Area in Glenwood Canyon at 2:22 p.m. on March 18 regarding a vehicle that had been broken into. Items were reported stolen. The case is under investigation.
Burglary: Deputies responded to a report of a burglary that occurred at 3:44 p.m. on March 19 in Battlement Mesa. The estimated loss is $15,000. Deputies are currently investigating.
Driving under the influence: Deputies contacted a driver near Rifle at 11:48 p.m. on March 20 in the 1500 mile of County Road 210. Cindy Robinson Gunderman, 55, of Silt, was subsequently arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Garfield County Jail.
Trespass: A deputy was advised by dispatch of a vehicle trespass call at 3:43 p.m. on March 21 in the 58000 block of Highway 6 near Glenwood Springs. The case is closed pending further leads.
Brush fire: At 7:46 p.m. on March 21, deputies were advised by dispatch of a brush fire near Battlement Mesa. Grand Valley Fire Department and deputies responded and investigated the incident. The fire was suspected to have been caused by juveniles who remained on scene and put out the fire. The fire damaged only an area of dry grass approximately 30 feet wide by 20 feet long. The juveniles' parents were contacted, and the case is closed without charges.
Illegal weapon: Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle at 9:22 p.m. on March 21 at the South Canyon boat ramp outside of Glenwood Springs. The driver, Elmer Witzel, 38, of Glenwood Springs, was found to be in possession of an illegal weapon. Witzel was issued a summons and released.
