Editor's note: The Rifle Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Drug dealing: While on patrol at 12:31 a.m. on March 31 in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue, police observed a drug transaction. One person was arrested and three others cited. Elias Reuben Martinez-Vigil, 24, of Rifle was arrested on suspicion of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and giving less than two ounces of marijuana to another person. Lawrence DeLoran Cunningham, 56, of Parachute was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Jacqueline Mauer, 26, of New Castle and Dylan Thomas Webber, 26, of Rifle were both cited for open containers of alcohol.
Criminal mischief: Police were called to the 700 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard at 7:12 a.m. on March 31 regarding a damaged window. It appeared the window had been shot with a BB gun.
Prohibited use of weapon: Police took a report of a bullet hole in the window of a home in the 1100 block of West 24th Street, reported at 12:55 p.m. on March 31. It is believed the damage occurred within the past few weeks.
Violation of restraining order: Officers contacted a man at a bar in the 100 block of West Third Street at 12:24 a.m. on April 1. Jonathan M. Brown, 40, of Meeker was known to be under a court order barring him from drinking, and was taken into custody for violating the order.
Stolen vehicle: Police were called to the 200 block of West 20th Street at 9:55 a.m. on April 1 regarding a suspicious vehicle. It turned out the vehicle had been stolen in Grand Junction earlier that day. It was towed away for further investigation.
Fraud: Police were called to a business in the 1000 block of Airport Road at 10:49 a.m. on April 1 regarding unauthorized purchases made with a credit card.
Theft: Officers are investigating a report of trespass and theft from a residence in the 100 block of West 26th Street reported at 7:10 p.m. on April 1.
Theft and forgery: Officers took a report of fraud that occurred in the 1300 block of Railroad Avenue. The incident was reported at 4:15 p.m. on April 2. It remains under investigation.
Warrant arrest: While investigating another matter in the 800 block of South Whiteriver Ave. at 2 p.m. on April 3, officers contacted a woman wanted on a warrant. Tina Ruth Cumbie, 47, of Rifle was arrested and booked at the county jail.
Driving under revocation: Police investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle found parked in an alley near Remington Square at 7:20 p.m. on April 3. Robert Joseph Capps, 48, of Rifle was arrested on a warrant and cited for driving while his license was under restraint.
Warrant arrest: While investigating another matter in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue at 1:13 p.m. on April 4, officers contacted a woman wanted on a warrant. Alecia Marie Jones, 33, of Rifle was arrested and booked at the county jail.
Assault: Officers are investigating an assault reported at 1:46 p.m. April 4 that occurred in the 300 block of Railroad Avenue.
Theft: Police took a report of a telephone scam at 11:46 a.m. on April 4 in which a person called from Jamaica requesting money.
Assault: Police responded to I-70 at 10:12 p.m. on April 4 to deal with a woman creating a hazard for herself and traffic. She was uncooperative, and was taken to Grand River Hospital for a medical evaluation, where she allegedly assaulted staff members. Christina Leigh Belden, 36, address unknown, was arrested on suspicion of assault and booked at the county jail.
Assault: Police were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of East 18th Street at 1:16 a.m. on April 5. Mandy Lynn Collins, 34, of Rifle was arrested on suspicion of assault and domestic violence and booked at the county jail.
Warrant arrest: Police contacted a man wanted on a warrant at 1:29 p.m. on April 5 in the 200 block of East 18th Street. Robert Jerome, 60, of Parachute was booked at the county jail.
Disorderly conduct: Police were called to a fight in the 1500 block of Anvil View Avenue at 7 p.m. on April 5. Officers cited Paul Henderson, 21, of Rifle for disorderly conduct. Another suspect has been identified and is being sought for citation.
Driving under the influence: Police stopped a motorist at 9:44 p.m. on April 6 for speeding on County Road 320. Eric Casaus, 29, of Rifle was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and speeding 20 mph over the limit.
Assault: Police were called to a reported assault in the 200 block of East Third Street at 5:42 p.m. on April 7. On arrival, officers learned that the suspect had left the scene. Mandi Hope Cornelius, 20, of Rifle was later cited for assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Harassment: Officers were called to a disturbance in the 400 block of West Fourth Street at 12:27 a.m. on April 8. The suspect was not present, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police later arrested Neri Aaron Silva, 19, of Rifle, on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence and booked him at the county jail.
Underage drinking: Officers were called to a party involving juveniles in the 300 block of Will Ave. at 12:44 a.m. on April 8. They cited a total of 13 young people for underage drinking. Summoned into court were Brice Osborne,19, of Rifle, Elizebeth Lefevre, 18, of Parachute, Levi Nash, 19, of Rifle, Makyla Ragle, 18, of New Castle, Eden Young, 18, of Parachute, Shawnee Young, 19, of Parachute, Ryan Fazzi, 19, of Rifle, Trent Sargent, 18, of Rifle, Bryan Ross, 18, of Silt, Michael Olsen, 18, of Parachute as well as a 15-year-old boy from Parachute and two girls from Rifle, ages 15 and 17.
