SATURDAY, JUNE 9Roan Cliff Chaos Cross-country Race8:30 a.m., Saturday, June 9 • North of Rifle on the Bureau of Land Management's JQS trail and Hubbard Mesa area • www.rifleco.org, 665-6570This BLM permitted race series is on desert trails with many desert hazards. The cross country race is a six-mile loop, beginners race is one lap, sport race two laps, expert race four laps. The course has a couple of tough climbs and some nice down hills to keep the chaos factor up. Race starts with experts, then sport, then beginners.
