The 2012 Strawberry Days Carnival, takes place at the Glenwood Springs Mall parking lot June 13-17. Unlimited ride, one-day passes are available at a discount in advance for $20 now through June 12. Passes can be purchased during regular business hours at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association, located at 1102 Grand Ave. Unlimited ride, one-day passes will be available at the carnival for $30, and individual tickets will be sold for $1 each. Senior Matters of Carbondale will have its fifth year sno cone concession at the Carbondale Wild West Rodeo starting on Thursday, June 7. One need not be a "senior" to enjoy volunteering with great people who enjoy the eager faces of younger patrons. Senior Matters is a nonprofit corporation, and through its mission statement "Foster Diverse Educational And Social Programs For Seniors Of All Ages" it provides programs at its Senior Matters Senior Center at the Third Street Center. On June 8 - 10, the Denver-based MG Car Club - Rocky Mountain Centre will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the MG Car Club Road Rallye, the oldest continuously held road rallye in the nation. Though driving conditions have changed dramatically in more than a half-century, the miles of stunning alpine scenery near Glenwood Springs including Glenwood Canyon, Independence Pass and the Grand Mesa, as well as diversions like Glenwood Hot Springs and Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, continue to draw hundreds of MG car enthusiasts to the river and mountain town annually.

Frying Pan Anglers is host a "kids fly fishing camp." It is taking place June 23 and 24. The event will take place locally on the private waters of Frying Pan Anglers in Basalt. The event is great for kids of ages 5-18. There will be camping, fly fishing lessons, entomology lessons, camp fire stories and smores. Call Frying Pan Anglers for details at 970-927-3441.

Bookcliff, Mount Sopris & South Side Conservation Districts and Garfield County Vegetative Management will provide cost share to treat Garfield County's noxious weeds. An onsite visit is required by the conservation district 945-5494 ext 105 or Steve Anthony, Garfield County Vegetative Management, at 625-8601. A site visit will help identify weeds, address resource issues and develop a weed management plan. The deadline for spring application is July 15.
