Ironbridge Golf Club's head pro, Doug Rohrbaugh of Glenwood Springs, shot a first-round 72 on the first day of the U.S. Senior Open on Thursday.

Playing at the Indianwood Golf and Country Club in Lake Orion, Mich., Rohrbaugh finished at 2-over par and is tied for 62nd place heading into today's second round.

Rohrbaugh is seven strokes off the pace of leader Tom Kite, who shot a 5-under round of 65. Lance Ten Broeck and Bernhard Langer are in a tie for second place at 4-under.

Today's round will determine the cut for players to advance to the final two 18-hole rounds on the weekend.

The Storm King Open two-lady best ball tournament is coming to Glenwood Springs Golf Club on Saturday, July 21.

The 43rd annual Aspen Yacht Club Regatta will be held July 14-15 at Ruedi Reservoir, which is 18 miles up the Fryingpan River in Basalt. Spectators are welcome to come watch, but no dogs are allowed.

Fleets racing include: Stars, J22s, Ultimate 20s, Lasers, Lightnings, Santana 20s, Sunfish, PHRF and Portsmouth.

Crown Mountain Park and Recreation District is putting on a kids sports camp Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 17 through Aug. 2.

Campers will try a variety of sports in six separate days. The camp is geared for boys and girls 5-8 years old.

Sessions run from 9-10 a.m. and the cost is $54. Sports include: soccer, football, T-ball, tennis and basketball.

Grand Valley High School is seeking a boys soccer coach for the fall season and a girls golf coach for the spring.
