Richard Owen Truitt, 32, of Rifle, was arrested and later released with a summons for alleged shoplifting.Domestic: Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2400 block of West 24th Place on July 2 at 4:33 p.m. A suspect left the scene before officers arrived. An arrest warrant has been issued. Warrant arrest: Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of Randolph Avenue on July 2 at 10:29 p.m. for a disturbance. Jane Copper, 58, of Rifle, was found to have two warrants. She was arrested and taken to jail.Domestic violence: Police responded to a domestic disturbance on July 3 at 1:21 a.m. in the 1500 block of Railroad Avenue and arrested Carl T. Schroerlucke, 53, of Rifle, on suspicion of domestic violence and first degree criminal trespass. Schroerlucke was taken to jail.Traffic arrest: Officers contacted a vehicle for speeding on Airport Road on July 3 at 7:30 p.m. The driver, Manuel Joseph Archuleta, 24, of Silt, had a revoked driver's license and no proof of insurance. He was arrested and taken to jail.Trespass: Police responded to the 700 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard for a report of trespass on July 3 at 9:36 p.m. A known suspect had left before officers arrived, and charges are likely.Traffic arrest: Police contacted a vehicle in the 300 block of South Seventh Street for a traffic violation on July 3 at 10:54 p.m. The driver, John Robert Bierig, 26, of Rifle, had a revoked license. Bierig was arrested on suspicion of driving under restraint for an alcohol offense, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal. He was taken to jail.Domestic arrest: Officers contacted two parties involved in a disturbance in the 600 block of Mesa Avenue on July 4 at 12:28 a.m. Corey Christian McCraney, 20, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence and was taken to jail.Minors arrested: Police responded to a fight in progress near the Acacia Apartments on July 4 at 10:20 p.m. Two 16-year-old juvenile boys were contacted and taken into custody, then released to their parents on suspicion of harassment, minors in possession of alcohol and curfew violation. Theft: On July 6 at 12:16 p.m., police investigated a report of employee theft at a business in the 200 block of East 18th Street.Vehicle theft: Police contacted a vehicle seen speeding in the area of 30th Street and Colorado Highway 13 on July 7 at 10:14 p.m. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of the Denver area. Two occupants, Mitchell Roosevelt Toney, 20, of Riverside, Colo., and Johnathan Lewis, 20, of Rifle, ran from the scene but were later arrested.Theft: On July 9 at 11:21 a.m., officers received a report of off-road equipment allegedly stolen from a vehicle in the 700 block of Cactus Court. Assault: Police responded to the 100 block of West 26th Street on July 9 at 10:34 p.m., after a report of a medical call resulting from a physical disturbance that occurred elsewhere. Richard Owen Truitt, 33, and Nathan Leon Navratil, 20, both of Rifle, were each issued a summons for third degree assault.Impersonation: Officers contacted Nathan Leon Navratil, 20, of Rifle, on July 10 at 12:49 a.m. in the 1500 block of Railroad Avenue while investigating a separate matter. Navratil allegedly identified himself with another person's name and had allegedly consumed alcohol in violation of a restraining order. Navratil was arrested and taken to jail.Trespass: Police took a report of attempted vehicle theft on July 10 at 11:04 p.m. in the 1700 block of Airport Road. Someone entered the vehicle and tampered with the mechanics, causing damage. Dog bite: On July 10 at 3:21 a.m., a deputy responded to a dog bite that occurred on County Road 221/Native Springs Drive near Rifle. The dog owner, Alfredo Salazar Perez, 39, was issued a summons and the dog was quarantined. Traffic violations: Deputies stopped a vehicle for failure to use turn signals on July 10 at 2:37 p.m. near the fire station in Battlement Mesa and found that the driver, Jackie Frank Wood, 51, allegedly did not have insurance and displayed fictitious registration tabs. He was released on a summons.Disorderly arrest: Police responded to the 700 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard on July 11 at 5:48 a.m. for a report of a suspicious man with a firearm inside a hotel. Wesley Selsor, 59, of Rifle, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of disorderly conduct and reckless endangerment.Trespass: Police responded to the 1500 block of Railroad Avenue for a report of trespass on July 11 at 10:26 a.m. Carl T. Schroerlucke, 53, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of violation of a restraining order by consuming alcohol and trespass.Vandalism: On July 11 at 11:43 a.m., police received a report that a vehicle window had been broken while the vehicle was parked in the 600 block of Park Avenue.Pot smoking: Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle in the Battlement Mesa area on July 11 at 2:38 a.m. Two men, Victor Isaac Castaneda, 19, of Parachute, and a 17-year-old juvenile, were issued summonses for alleged public consumption of marijuana.Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a man on Tamarisk Court in Battlement Mesa on July 12 at 1:07 p.m. Derrick Randell Hamn, 20, of Parachute, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant and taken to jail.Traffic arrest: A deputy contacted a vehicle on Airport Road outside Rifle for speeding on July 12 at 7:08 p.m. The driver, Nicholas Brackney, 26, of Englewood, was allegedly found to be driving under restraint. He was arrested and taken to jail.Attempted burglary: On July 13 at 12:37 a.m., deputies were notified of a criminal mischief and attempted trespass/burglary that occurred on West Battlement Parkway. No suspects.Theft: On July 13 at 5:23 p.m., deputies took a report of boat trailer stolen from the Parachute area. No suspects at this time.Disturbance: Deputies responded to and investigated a disturbance on Colorado Highway 13 outside Rifle on July 14 at 7:02 p.m. Josiah Sissom, 18, of Silt, was issued a summons for criminal mischief, harassment and reckless endangerment and released.DUI: Deputies contacted a vehicle on County Road 227 near Silt on July 14 at 3:28 a.m. for traffic violations. The driver, John Turner, 46, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, a warrant, contributing to a minor, and other traffic related charges. A juvenile was also summonsed and released for minor in possession and consumption of ethyl alcohol.
