Frankie Ray Shaw

Frankie Ray Shaw of Rifle passed away Aug. 5, 2012. He was 41.

He was born in DuQuoin, Ill., on April 7, 1971. Frankie graduated from Rifle High School. He was married to Leslie Janine (Benton) Shaw, from Wilmington, N.C.

Frankie was employed by the City of Rifle Public Works Department as a superintendent. He was a proud Marine Corps veteran and a positive influence within his community. He was responsible for the building of a city bicycle park for the local children and a remote control "RC" park that has been enjoyed by many.

Frankie is survived by his wife, Leslie; daughter, Jordan; son, Kyle; and grandson, Maddox. He is also survived by his parents, Loren and Lois Polley of DeBeque; siblings, Kimberly Woolever of Gillette, Wyo.; Cindy Forney of Corvalis, Ore.; William "Paul" Knapp of Silverthorne; Gregory Knapp of Los Angeles; Terry Knapp of San Diego; Deanna Forney of Grand Junction; Chad Scholebo of Gillette, Wyo., and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and relatives.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, Aug. 10, 10 a.m., at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church in Rifle. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rifle Remote Control Park, c/o Brad Church, 1305 E. 17th St., Rifle, CO 81650.
