Garfield County Sheriff's Department Cop Shop Report - Aug. 23, 2012

Burglary: The Rifle Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Garfield County are asking for any information related to a burglary.

Between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 30, a Rifle residence was burglarized. The suspect(s) stole an Xbox 360 console, a PlayStation 3 console, numerous games controllers and live point cards, five IPods and headsets, a Glock 9mm handgun and holster, an official Kansas police department badge and $2,400 cash.

Assault: Deputies learned of a fight at the Garfield County Jail in Glenwood Springs on Aug. 14 at 5:22 a.m. Angel Pinela, 27, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault. The case is open and under investigation.

Theft: On Aug. 17 at 12:14 p.m., a deputy took a report of a stolen trailer with a mounted power washing unit attached to it on County Road 215 outside Parachute. This case is inactive pending further leads.

Arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle at mile marker 69 on I-70 outside Parachute on Aug. 18 at 12:10 a.m. for an equipment violation. The driver, Elijah Blu Purcell, 31, of Grand Junction, was found to be driving while his license was allegedly revoked as a habitual traffic offender. He was arrested and taken to jail.

Trespass: Deputies took a report of a trespass on a ranch on County Road 252 outside Rifle on Aug. 19 at 3:06 p.m. The case is closed pending further leads.

Accident: Deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident on the JQS Trail north of Rifle on Aug. 19 at 3:27 p.m. The vehicle was located, but no one was on scene. The case is closed and inactive.

Theft: Deputies responded to a call of a stolen license plate on County Road 251 outside Rifle on Aug. 20 at 11:16 a.m.

Theft: Deputies received a call about a stolen radio on U.S. Highway 6 east of Rifle on Aug. 20 at 12:24 a.m.
