Assault: Deputies responded to a report of an assault on County Road 333 outside Rifle on Aug. 23 at 2:32 a.m. After investigation, Marcos Bencomo, 27, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault and menacing. He was taken to jail.
DUI: Deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction outside Rulison on Aug. 23 at 11:23 p.m. The driver, Jeffrey Ross Schmidt, 48, of Watsonville, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and taken to jail.
Traffic offenses: A deputy contacted a vehicle in Battlement Mesa for a traffic violation on Aug. 23 at 6:22 p.m. The 16-year-old juvenile driver from Parachute did not have a driver's license, proof of insurance or registration. The driver was issued a summons and the vehicle was impounded.
Underage summonses: A deputy contacted a vehicle at West 24th Street and Railroad Avenue outside Rifle for a traffic violation on Aug. 24 at 1:41 a.m. Three people were issued summonses for suspicion of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia or minor in possession of alcohol: Jason Dale Shaver, 19, of Parachute; Alexa Rachelle Chenoweth, 18, of Parachute; and Coree Dyllan Simonds, 20, of Parachute.
Warrant arrest: On Aug. 24 at 5:12 p.m., deputies arrested Jeffrey Allen Craw, 50, of Rifle, on County Road 333 for a municipal warrant.
Underage consumption: Deputies contacted a juvenile pedestrian on I-70 near Rifle on Aug. 25 at 3:31 a.m. The 16-year-old from New Castle was found to be intoxicated and in possession of alcohol. The juvenile was summonsed and released to a guardian.
Burglary: On Aug. 25 at 11:50 p.m., deputies took a report of a burglary outside Parachute. The case is currently under investigation.
License revoked: Deputies contacted a defective vehicle on County Road 215 outside Parachute on Aug. 25 at 6:10 a.m. The driver, Randall B. Wilhelm, 44, of Rifle, was found to have had his driver's license revoked for a previous alcohol offense. Wilhelm was arrested and taken to jail.
Trespass: Deputies responded to a criminal trespass in progress at 27925 U.S. Highway 6 outside Rifle on Aug. 25 at 11:44 p.m. After an investigation, Randy Wayne Long, 37, of Gypsum, and Aaron Lee Cobb, 33, of Glenwood Springs, were cited for suspicion of trespass. Jorge Gutierrez Gonzalez, 35, of New Castle, was cited with driving while his license was suspended.
Burglary: Deputies responded to a report of a burglary outside Parachute on Aug. 26 at 2:17 a.m. A 12-year-old Parachute juvenile was issued a summons and released to his parents.
Protection order violation: Deputies responded to a medical call on Bent Creek Circle in Battlement Mesa on Aug. 26 at 11:24 p.m. After investigation, the injured man, Randall B. Wilhelm, 44, of Rifle, allegedly violated a protection order. He was taken to jail.
Dog at large: A deputy responded to a report of a dog at large on Aug. 29 at 6:09 p.m. on Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa. The dog was a female black collie-like breed with a pink collar. The owner, Ronde E. Crawford, 51, was issued a summons.
Warrant arrest: Deputies investigating a fraud on Silverton Place in Battlement Mesa on Aug. 29 at 1:46 p.m. contacted a man who it was determined had two outstanding warrants. Stephen Edward Draper, 36, of Parachute, was arrested and taken to jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding outside Rifle on Aug. 29 at 9:19 p.m. The driver, Garrett Anthony Digiallonardo, 25, of Grand Junction, was issued a citation for the speed. A passenger, Jesus Ruiz Meraz, 26, of Grand Junction, was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies investigated a report of a domestic dispute on Senbeca Road outside Silt on Aug. 31 at 3:19 a.m., but found no crime was committed. However, John Fabian Hile, 40, of Silt, was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to an animal complaint on County Road 320 on Sept. 2 at 9:11 p.m. and learned Thadias Michael Gonzalez, 36, of Rifle, had an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken to jail.
Dog bite: Animal control responded to a dog bite incident on County Road 320 near Rifle on Sept. 2 at 6:31 p.m. The dog was quarantined and the owner, Chelsie Morgan Shuster, 19, of Rifle, was issued a summons for the incident.
