On Sept. 26-27, at the historic Hotel Colorado in downtown Glenwood Springs on the "Day of Rest," members of Baha'i communities on the Western Slope and around the country plan to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of 'Abdu'l-Baha's visit to Glenwood Springs. 'Abdu'l-Baha rested at the Hotel Colorado while on a rare teaching journey across Europe and the United States in 1912. Among those expected to attend is 'Abdu'l-Baha's great-grandson, and local Baha'i resident and Guardian of the Baha'i faith, Neal Chase.

'Abdu'l-Baha, Persian for "Servant of Glory," was the son and successor of the Baha'i faith's Founder, Baha'u'llah, "Glory of God, or Father," who named 'Abdu'l-Baha to be the "Center of the Covenant" and lineal successor to the throne of King David, currently inherited by Mr. Chase.
