Perhaps you sent a card, flowers, brought food, a kind word, a hug, went to the service, or made a call. Whatever you did, and you know who you are, we would like to thank you all. It's people like you that made this time of sorrow a little easier to go through.Sincere thanks, gratitude, and appreciation. The family of David G. Kehr

When Jim Boone passed away on Aug. 7, one of our city council members stated, "Our community has lost a hero." I appreciated her statement, as Mr. Boone was larger than life to many students, athletes and adults in our area. Since his passing, I have noticed there are many heroes in our community. These are not the people that you necessarily see in front of a crowd or that get recognition for what they do. These are the members of our community that find quiet, helpful ways to support those that are hurting or needing help. They use their gifts to fill needs with a phone call, a text, Facebook, a card, a hug, or financial help. Our family has been inundated with heroes in our community. They are the hands and feet of Jesus to the "least of these." We are so appreciative of all the support we have received. Thank you for reminding us that heroes are all around us and that we need to look outside ourselves and help others. Who can you be a hero to today? Jenny BooneRifle
