The Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club inducted new officers for the 2012-2013 year on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at a gala dinner at the Ramada Inn. About 45 people attended, including club members, spouses and members of the Glenwood Springs High School Key Club, which Kiwanis sponsors. Projects for the coming year include a Key Leader leadership training weekend for high school students, work days at WindWalkers Equine Therapy, Salvation Army bell ringing, ski and snowshoe outings, Special Olympics, Stars of Tomorrow, Ball Race and pancake breakfasts. Robert Imondi and Chelsey Nepp were united in marriage Sept. 29, 2012. The beautiful ceremony was held at the Lakota Canyon Recreation Center in New Castle. Chelsey is the daughter of Gregg and Leslie Nepp of New Castle.Robert is the son of Bob and Valerie Imondi of Rifle.After the ceremony, a dinner and dance was held at the Elks Lodge in Glenwood Springs. What a hoot!
The Carbondale Rotary Club was named the recipient of the D.D. Monroe Award at the Rotary District 5470 Conference, which took place Sept. 28-30 in Colorado Springs. This is the third time in 10 years that the club has won the award. The D.D. Monroe Award recognizes the outstanding Rotary Club in the district for 2012, based on net club membership growth, service and other growth metrics.
Aaron and Lisa Hughes welcomed Gabriel Michael at 2:22 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1. Gabriel weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces.
