April 7, 1921 - September 30, 2012Bob Buerger passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle , where he had been a resident for the last six-plus years. He was 91.Bob was born April 7, 1921, in North Denver to Alvin and Rose (Hofermalz) Buerger, graduated from North High School in 1939. He went to college at Colorado A&M in Fort Collins, but was forced to withdraw in fall 1939 when he contracted polio.After several months of rehabilitation, he went to work in the family business, Buerger Brothers Supply Co., in Denver. He was the third generation owner of the business at the time of his retirement in 1983.He married Wilma Katherine Wilson in Denver on Oct. 8, 1944. They moved from Denver to Arvada in 1955, where they resided until retirement. After retiring in 1983, they moved to their Sweetwater ranch near Gypsum, and then later to Silt in 1989.His glass was always half full, and he especially loved his Lord, his family and friends, his country, and agriculture and its relationship to nature.He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Cecelia Massey.He is survived by his wife, Wilma, of Silt; daughter, Susan (Chris) Martin; sons, Al Buerger, John (Joan) Buerger, and James (Pam) Buerger; one granddaughter and four grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.A small memorial service will be held at the care center, and family and friends will hold a private gathering.

January 4, 1922 ~ October 8, 2012Margery Mae Costanzo, 90, of Rifle, passed away Oct. 8 at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.Margery was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Glenwood Springs to Fred and Rosa (Pretti) DeLong. She married Melvin L. Costanzo on May 22, 1938. They had four children.Margery was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; and son-in-law, Ted Schaeffer.She is survived by her sons, Joe (Bethann) and John (Velda); daughters, Judy (Melvin) Brooks and Jera Schaeffer; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Gloria Aluise; and many nieces and nephews.Memorial services are planned for Saturday, Oct. 13, 10:30 a.m., at Rocky Mountain Baptist Church in Rifle. Pastor Jim Sheets will officiate.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Rifle Senior Center, 50 Ute Ave., Rifle, CO 81650.
