Warrant arrest: Officers contacted Rafael Silva Garcia, 38, of New Castle, in the 1000 block of Railroad Avenue on Sept. 27 at 1:42 p.m. He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for harassment and taken to jail.Warrant arrest: Raquel Rick Leyba, of Silt, turned himself in at the Rifle Criminal Justice Center on an outstanding warrant from Garfield County on Sept. 27 at 5:22 p.m. He was released on bond. Theft: On Sept. 28 at 7:32 a.m., an officer took a report of fuel theft from a business in the 300 block of South Seventh Street. A suspect has been identified. Criminal trespass: Officers received a report of a vehicle break in in the 2000 block of Meadow Court on Sept. 28 at 8:37 a.m. Items were reportedly stolen from the vehicle. Theft: Officers received a report of a vehicle break in in the 2000 block of Acacia Avenue on Sept. 28 at 12:19 p.m. Items were reportedly stolen from the vehicle. False ID: Officers responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of West Avenue and U.S. Highway 6 on Sept. 28 at 4:57 p.m. After investigation, Lucia Guadalupe Martinez-Ontiveros, 23, of Rifle, allegedly failed to yield the right of way and collided with another vehicle. She was issued a summons under a false identity that she provided, but officers learned her true identity. Curfew: On Sept. 29 at 2:36 a.m., police responded to a complaint involving juveniles in the 1500 block of East Seventh Street and found five juveniles allegedly in violation of curfew. They were issued summonses for curfew violation and released them to their parents. Assault: Police took a report of an assault in the 800 block of South White River Avenue on Sept. 29 at 7:06 p.m. The case is under investigation. Drug possession: Police contacted a vehicle for suspicious activity in the 2000 block of Railroad Avenue on Sept. 29 at 12:15 a.m. A passenger, Glen Madison Sell, 28, of Rifle, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and destruction of evidence. Jessica Pierson, 18, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of harassment and obstructing a peace officer. Criminal mischief: On Oct. 11 at 10:41 a.m., police took a report of an attempted burglary of a residence in the 1500 block of Arabian Avenue. Nothing was reported missing. Criminal mischief: On Oct. 13 at 11:42 a.m., police were notified of damage to a vehicle parked in the 200 block of White River Avenue. Drugs found: On Oct. 13 at 1:01 p.m., officers took a report of found drugs at a lodging facility in the 1100 block of Access Road. Possession of drugs: Officers contacted Matthew Allen McCoy, 21, of Grand Junction, at a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Railroad Avenue on Oct. 14 at 3:12 p.m. McCoy was arrested and taken to jail on suspicion of possession of a schedule II controlled substance. DUI: Deputies contacted a woman at Stone Quarry Road and Monument Trail in Battlement Mesa for a traffic violation on Oct. 14 at 1:54 a.m. Nicole Theresa McCarthy, 26, of Parachute, was arrested for suspicion of DUI and released on a summons.Underage drinking: A deputy responded to a noise complaint 185 Silverton Circle in Battlement Mesa on Oct. 14 at 10:55 p.m. Two 18-year-olds, Dusty Rose Losasso and Christopher Eugene McGruder, both of Parachute, were issued summonses for alcohol offenses.Domestic violence: Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 221 W. Carson Circle in Battlement Mesa on Oct. 14 at 5:04 p.m. Samantha Fay Pettit, 22, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and felony menacing and taken to jail.Burglary: Police responded to the Subway restaurant in the 700 block of Taughenbaugh Boulevard on Oct. 15 at 4:34 a.m. for a reported burglary. Officers found someone broke into the business and stole an unspecified amount of cash.
