Memories & Milestones

At its weekly meeting Thursday, Oct. 18, the Glenwood Springs High School Key Club hosted three German students and their faculty advisor. The German students, from Baden-Baden, Germany, have come to the United states to attend the Kiwanis-sponsored Key Leader weekend in Aspen, running Oct. 19-21. The students arrived in Denver last week, and came to Glenwood Springs on Wednesday. Hosted by four Kiwanis families, the German students and their faculty advisor are experiencing the best of Glenwood Springs: the Adventure Park, Hot Springs, Hotel Colorado, the city's parks, and, of course, American pizza. Host families will transport the students and their advisor to Aspen on Friday and pick them up Sunday. The students will return to Denver on Tuesday, Oct. 23, where other host families will let the students and their advisor experience many of Denver's attractions.

The Carbondale Middle School eighth-grade football team recently beat Glenwood 49-26 to win the 2012 Eighth-Grade PEG League Championship. The team finished the year 6-0.
