Editor's note: The Glenwood Springs Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests. Summonses or arrests merely indicate an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless found guilty in court.
Driving under the influence: At 1:32 a.m. on Oct. 5, police stopped a truck for driving the wrong way down a one-way street at Eighth Street and Colorado Avenue. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Humberto Rodarte-Ortiz, 32, of Denver, was arrested and lodged at the Garfield County Jail for suspicion of DUI, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and failing to drive in a single lane.
Harassment: At 4:10 p.m. on Oct. 5, police contacted man in the 900 block of Colorado Avenue after receiving a harassment report. Andrew Alexander Taylor, 47, of Glenwood Springs, is alleged to have delivered multiple harassing notes to the victim. Police issued Taylor a summons for harassment.
Driving under the influence, obstructing a police officer: At 7:25 p.m. on Oct. 5, police were called to an accident in the 700 block of Blake Avenue where the driver was passed out at the wheel. After further investigation, Jesse Michael Bartusek, 37, of Glenwood Springs, was arrested and lodged at the Garfield County Jail for unsafe backing, suspicion of DUI, and obstruction.
Driving under the influence, careless driving: At 1:33 a.m. on Oct. 6, police contacted a man driving in a parking lot in the 2500 block of South Grand Avenue for trying to squeeze his car through a space where it would not fit. The driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. James Preston Hauskins, 38, of Glenwood Springs, was charged with careless driving and suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and was lodged at the Garfield County Jail.
Underage drinking, obstructing the roadway: At 1:50 a.m. on Oct. 6, police contacted two suspects running down the middle of the road at 27th Street and South Grand Avenue. Peter Courtney Wampler, 18, of Glenwood Springs, and a juvenile female were cited for underage drinking and obstructing the roadway. Wampler was taken to the county jail and the female was released with a summons.
Driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance: At 2:21 a.m. on Oct. 7, police contacted a vehicle at 13th Street and Grand Avenue. Carlos Perez-Sepulveda, 33, of New Castle, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, suspicion of driving under the influence, careless driving and striking an unattended vehicle and lodged at the county jail.
