Much has changed since the onset of the Great Recession and housing crisis. Successful communities will respond to changing economic and market conditions by closely aligning community and economic development. The Community Builders summit at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs will explore how, and examine the economic, market and development trends that will help shape the future of our communities. Registration is from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, with the evening plenary from 7-8 p.m. The full-day summit takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26. The Aspen Valley Medical Foundation (AVMF) has launched a new television program on Grassroots TV titled "Our Work in Progress." During the week of Oct. 21, Vince Savage, director of the Aspen Homeless Shelter, will share information about Aspen's homeless population and how the shelter staff is working to assist them.Each week the shows will air: Sundays at 7a.m., Mondays at 11 a.m., Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Fridays at noon and 10 p.m. For further information, contact AVMF at 544-1298 or info@avmfaspen.org.
