Here are two reasons why local homeowners should vote "no" on 5A, which proposes to dissolve the Central Grand Valley Sanitation District, and hand over operation to the City of Grand Junction:
1.) The quality of service will be greatly diminished due to the fact that the City of Grand Junction does not have the equipment to keep up and maintain the cleaning of the sewer lines that the Central Grand Valley Sanitation District (CGVSD) has been doing.
2.) For those who live in the CGVS District, why not have the monies we pay for sanitation sewer fees go to an entity such as CGVSD instead of going to the City. Once the City of GJ gets the money, there is no guarantee that it will be allocated to upkeep our sewer lines.
Vote no on Referred Measure 5A to keep things flowing smoothly as they have been since 1969.
