RIFLE, Colorado - On Sunday, Oct. 7, at about 1:30 a.m., an unknown man entered the Grease Monkey Car Wash and dumped large quantities of used oil into the drains in two car wash bays. Oil was also tracked throughout the parking lot.
Most of the oil was contained within the drains and very little polluted the city's sewer system. Grease Monkey paid thousands of dollars for the cleanup and two of its wash bays were closed down for days.
The Rifle Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Garfield County are looking for information about the suspect, described as a heavy-set Hispanic male, driving a dark-colored 1990s Ford F-250, pulling a dovetail car hauler trailer.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that will lead to the arrest and/or indictment of the suspect or suspects involved in this crime.
