Osage Gardens Pumpkin Patch

NEW CASTLE - Open 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. weekdays. Wagons, sand piles and feed the chickens. Free. Located 36730 River Frontage Road between Silt and New Castle.

U Pick Pumpkins

NEW CASTLE - Open 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. every day. Four-acre pumpkin field, hay rides, hot apple cider and baked goods. Located 6072 Road 214 west of New Castle, behind Coal Ridge High School.

Halloween Storytime

GLENWOOD SPRINGS - Preschoolers ages 3-5 and their adults are invited to come to the Glenwood Springs Branch Library, 413 Ninth St., for Halloween storytime at 10:30 a.m. We will go trick-or-treating in the library and around the block, including at the fire station. Costumes welcome but not required.

Preschool Halloween parade

RIFLE - Come to the Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Ave., for its annual Preschool Halloween Parade at 10:30 a.m. Show off your costumes on Halloween as we trick-or-treat through City Hall and around East Third Street businesses. Please show up early to gather for the parade.

Community Banks cookout

GLENWOOD SPRINGS - Community Banks welcomes its new banking center manager, Stephanie Matthews, with a community cook-out. Carve out some time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31, to stop by the bank at 1810 Grand Ave. Prize for the best costume, but please, no masks.

Halloween party at the library

SILT - Pre-school and elementary-aged kids are invited to come to the Halloween Party at the Silt Branch Library at 4 p.m. Come dressed up and ready for fun.

Silt Historical Park

SILT - Each building at the Silt Historical Park will be open from 6-8 p.m. with someone handing out treats. Fun for all ages and not too scary. Chaperones will be able to tour the buildings while the young at heart trick or treat.

Haunted house

GLENWOOD SPRINGS - Glenwood Springs Venture Crew 225 and Basalt Venture Crew 242 present a Haunted House at 2602 Glen Ave. (the old Subaru building in South Glenwood). Dialed-back Haunted House for kids 6 and older, 6-7 p.m. Full fright level for teens and adults 7:30-10 p.m. Tickets: adults $7; children 6-12, $5; families $20.

Redstone haunted hay rides

REDSTONE - A 40-minute ride through the Haunted Forest, including lots of scary characters and freaky scenes. Twilight rides at 6 p.m. for families, scary rides after dark at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. for teens and adults. Tickets: $30 for adults and teens, $10 for children 5-10 and young, under 5 free with parents on the Twilight Ride.

Ryden Ranch Maize Maze

NEW CASTLE - Take a spooky walk, or run if you get scared, through the corn maze, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tickets $8 for adults and teens, $6 for kids 6-12, children 5 and younger are free. Cookies, hot chocolate and apple cider included. Seven miles north of New Castle, just past 6234 County Road 226. Bring a flashlight.

CCAH, Thunder River Theatre: Dia de los Muertos Fiesta

CARBONDALE - TRTC's annual dance performance and poetry reading with Ballet Folklorico from 5:30-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, will combine with the annual gallery exhibit at CCAH starting at Thunder River Theatre, 67 Promenade. A procession then travels down Main and Third streets to the Third Street Center bringing the celebration to the Round Room and the R2 Gallery in the CCAH Center for the Arts. Traditional food, music, authentic altars, original artwork, sculpture, and visual work.
