Wild and Scenic Rivers forum for Crystal River

Carbondale,Colorado - The Roaring Fork Conservancy is hosting two educational forums to explore the process for designation of the Crystal River as a wild and scenic river.

The forums are set for 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Redstone Inn and at the same time on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Third Street Center in Carbondale.

Panelists include Kay Hopkins with the White River National Forest, Chuck Wanner, former Fort Collins city councilman who played an integral role in the wild and scenic designation of the Cache la Poudre River, Mike Moody from the Native Fish Society in Oregon, who has participated in the designation process on the Molalla River in Oregon, and David Moryc, senior director of river protection at American Rivers.

Everyone is welcome to learn more about the process of designation.
