Roaring Fork Valley residents pursuing education or training in healthcare are eligible to apply for an Aspen Valley Medical Foundation (AVMF) scholarship. The scholarship program provides assistance with tuition for undergraduate or graduate degree programs, conferences and training workshops in physical and behavioral health care. The final 2012 scholarship deadline is 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. Applicants can drop their applications at the AVMF office located at 616 E. Hyman Ave., Aspen, or via mail at PO Box 1639, Aspen, CO 81612.

The Garfield County Public Library District is seeking local artisans to submit designs for features inside the new Carbondale Branch Library. Artisans located in Garfield or neighboring counties may apply. The current competition is for the new library's service desk cladding and service desk lighting. A feature pendant light and decorative panels to the front of the desk will be selected on a competitive basis.
