Letter to the Editor - Dec. 6, 2012

To the two guys who peppered my mountain bike frame with a shotgun blast out at Hubbard Mesa Recreation Area on Sunday, Nov. 25:

Sorry I came back before you had a chance to leave and not be seen. If you shot my bike and didn't realize you were hitting it - wink, wink - you were making the conscious decision to discharge your firearm directly at County Road 290 from where you were shooting. It is gun owners like you that give the rest of the gun owners a bad name.

Am I sorry I yelled at your mother or mother in law? No, she's probably more punishment than any Garfield County Sheriff or judge could issue. Yeah, you know what I mean. If she wasn't yours, she can look me up and I will apologize to her.

To the mother of the toddler, if either of those guys were dad, I'm sorry, and I am concerned for the welfare of your child if these are the type of decisions that are being made. Dad of toddler, please learn some proper gun handling etiquette before your child is old enough to start shooting.

Remember, karma sucks.
