Honor roll: Due to incorrect information provided by Kent School, a Memories and Milestones item in the Dec. 5 edition contained the incorrect name of a student's mother. Mikaela Liotta, a student at Kent School in Kent, Conn., was named to the honor roll for the fall term of 2012-2013. Liotta is the child of Ferdinand Liotta of Carbondale and Sarah Ludington of Glenwood Springs.

An adult mountain lion was hit and killed by a vehicle along Interstate 70 near Dowd Junction last week, something that isn't as unusual as it sounds.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Area Manager Perry Will said mountain lions are frequently hit and killed along I-70 west of Glenwood Springs and along state Highway 82 between Glenwood Springs and Aspen. But, Will said, lion-auto accidents aren't as common along the Eagle County portion of the interstate.

Mountain lions aren't spotted by humans very often, and wildlife managers aren't certain how many there are in the area. But, Will said, "anywhere you've got mule deer, you'll have lions."
