Tanje Le Bellhouse, 50, passed unexpectedly at home on Friday, Dec 7, 2012.
The autopsy showed no apparent cause of death. Toxicology tests were required; the results won't be available for several weeks. Her thyroid was removed last July; doctors reported her surgery successful and that she was in good health.
Tanje was born 1962 in Temple, Texas. She was raised in Denver and Summit County, and graduated from Summit High School in Frisco. She continued her education at Michael Taylor Institute and received her license in cosmetology in 1984. She opened her first salon in Frisco, and through all of her years enjoyed hair styling.
In 1990 she married Scott Bellhouse of Leadville, Colo., who later died at age of 42 in a motorcycle accident. Tanje and Scott were blessed with the birth of their daughter Taylor Teawnee in 1995.
Tanje and Taylor resided in Basalt, Colo. with Dennis McCaulley for the last 10 years. She held employment at the town of Basalt for approximately 10 years, and until present, Good Earth Landscaping, which she dearly loved. She was very involved with Taylor's school and sports, especially swimming, which Taylor loves.
Tanje enjoyed and cherished her life with her family and friends. She had an intoxicating sense of humor and a wonderful gift of making everyone around her feel full of life. She loved to help others and found fulfillment in making anyone she knew laugh and feel great. She loved animals, arts and crafts, baking and canning, camping and spending time outdoors.
Tanje shared her blessings of good nature with all of us.
A memorial will be held at the Eagle County Community Building on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. A scholarship fund has been set up for Taylor at the Alpine Bank. Donations in lieu of flowers are requested.
