Garfield County Sheriff's Department's Cop Shop Report - Dec. 20, 2012

Warrant arrest: Deputies contacted a suspicious juvenile boy at the Silt I-70 on ramp on Dec. 11 at 2:26 p.m. Deputies learned the boy, a 17-year-old from New Castle, had an active arrest warrant out of Garfield County. Deputies also found suspected drug paraphernalia on him. The youth was arrested and later released to a family member.

Trespass: On Dec. 13 at 12:54 a.m., deputies responded to a criminal trespass on County Road 300 in Battlement Mesa. The case is closed pending further information.

Warrant arrest: On Dec. 13 at 1:43 p.m., a deputy contacted Mikka Shae Smith, 22, of Rifle, on County Road 221 outside Rifle. Smith had a Mesa County arrest warrant for failure to comply. He was taken to jail.

Dog at large: Animal control issued a summons to Estefany Holguin, 26, for a dog at large in the Cottonwood Springs Mobile Home Park, 27653 U.S. Highway 6, on Dec. 14 at 12:56 p.m.

Trespass: Deputies responded to a report of a trespass that occurred at a residence on County Road 227 outside Rifle on Dec. 15 at 11:48 a.m. There is no suspect information at this time.

Theft: Deputies responded to a motor vehicle theft incident on County Road 227 outside Rifle on Dec. 15 at 3:58 p.m. There is no suspect information at this time.

Dog at large: Animal control issued a summons to Thomas Stuart Platzer, 69, of Silt, for livestock harassment and dog at large on County Road 331 south of Silt on Dec. 15 at 1:50 p.m.

Dog bite: Animal control responded to a dog bite incident on Tamarisk Trail in Battlement Mesa on Dec. 17 at 11:23 a.m. The victim was treated at a Rifle Hospital and released.
