The Rifle Elks Hoop Shoot is in the books.
Winning bronze medals were Devin Woodhull, Suhey Perez, Brandon Millius, Hannah Diaz and Brenden Hagerty.
Silver medal winners were Jack Price, Xitlaly Sanchez, Cole Rogers, Sabree Coombs and Logan Hughes.
Winning gold and moving on to the district shoot in January are Caitlin Aispuro, Joel Ruiz, Masi Smith, Treyson Lujan, Elly Walters and Jacob Smith.
The Junior Titans Ballers Camp, a winter basketball camp, is slated for Jan. 2-5 at Coal Ridge High School.
All boys and girls in the third through eighth grades are eligible to sign up. The camp will run from 8-10 a.m. each day. T-shirts and snacks are provided.

The New Castle Recreation Department is offering a variety of volleyball programs this winter for both youth and adults.
The popular Tuesday adult mixed quads league begins in mid-January and is ideal for both recreational and competitive teams. Teams are required to have a minimum of one female on the court during play and the league is self-officiated. The registration fees are $120 per team and the deadline is Jan. 11.
Spike It Youth Volleyball is a new program for children 8 to 14 years old and will be held on Tuesday evenings once a week for six weeks. The focus of the program will be on teaching and developing the basic skills of the sport and the program will include weekly drills and scrimmage games. The registration fee is $40 and the program dates are Jan. 22-Feb. 26.
On Saturday, Feb. 9, NCR will host the Winter Blast Quads Tournament beginning at 9:30 a.m. Teams can be any combination of male and/or female players and the format will be pool play with teams placed in playoff divisions based on their pool play results. The registration fee is $80 per team by Feb. 4 or $100 after that date.

The Team Sopris swim team, which is based out of Glenwood Springs, is seeking an energetic assistant coach to help with its year-round program.
Applicants must have a swimming background and be willing to work afternoons, weeknights and the occasional weekends.
