Garfield County Sheriff's Department Cop Shop Report - Dec. 27, 2012

Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to a call on Jessica Lane in Battlement Mesa on Dec. 19 at 1:04 a.m. Elton Atene, 22, of Parachute, was found to have an active arrest warrant. He was arrested and taken to jail.

Harassment: A deputy responded to a disturbance on Sagemont Circle in Battlement Mesa on Dec. 19 at 9:16 a.m. A Parachute police officer also responded. Cody P. Shilling, 18, of Fruita, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, harassment and violation of a restraining order. He was taken to jail.

Disabled vehicle: On Dec. 20 at 5:49 a.m., deputies learned of a broken down vehicle on I-70 near Coal Ridge High School east of Silt, with a pedestrian walking away from it. Deputies arrived but were unable to locate anyone associated with the vehicle, which was found to be stolen out of Missouri. The vehicle was impounded. Schools in Garfield School District Re-2 were put in a "soft lock down" status for three hours as a precaution.

Warrant arrest: On Dec. 20 at 2:06 p.m., deputies responded to a possible domestic disturbance on Rainbow Drive near Silt. While it was found no crime had occurred; Christopher Eric Castillo, 28, was the subject of an arrest warrant. He was arrested and taken to jail.
