Warrant arrest: Officers contacted a 16-year-old Rifle boy at the police department on Dec. 27 at 1:15 p.m. The juvenile had an active municipal warrant for his arrest, so he was later arrested in the 2000 block of Acacia Avenue and released after posting bond. Traffic violations: Police contacted Samuel Eric Smith, 33, in the 400 block of Airport Road on Dec. 27 at 5:29 p.m. for a traffic violation. Warrant arrest: A deputy assisted a Parachute police officer with a call for service in the 200 block of East First Street on Dec. 31 at 2:02 a.m. Travis Michael Misek, 23, of Parachute, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken to jail.Warrant arrest: Deputies responded to an EMS call on County Road 313 outside New Castle on Dec. 31 at 4:37 a.m. Derrick Gage Smith, 25, of New Castle, was found to have outstanding warrants. Evidence of a forced entry and burglary of the residence was found, and the case is under investigation.Attempted escape: Deputies responded to a disturbance on Hunter Mesa Shop Road outside Rifle on Jan. 2 at 6:30 a.m. and arrested James Joseph Duster, 35, of Rifle, on suspicion of attempted escape. Oceguera Chavez, 26, of Parachute, was issued a summons.Theft: On Jan. 6 at 12:53 p.m., deputies responded to a theft outside Parachute. The case is under investigation.
