New Castle Family Fitness presents "Ask the Doc," a free neck, back and shoulder pain clinic with Dr. Errik Enewold D.C. Learn how chiropractic, stretching and strengthening can help reduce pain and improve your quality of life. The clinic is free to everyone and takes place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at New Castle Family Fitness. Call 984-3200 for information.

YouthZone will be offering a one-day drug/alcohol group for fifth- to eighth-graders from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 25. The course will be offered at YouthZone's Rifle office, 136 E. 12th St. For more information or to sign up, contact YouthZone at 625-3141.

The Holy Cross Cattlemen's Association annual meeting takes place from 12:55-11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Ramada Inn in Glenwood Springs. The annual meeting starts at 12:55 p.m., with the business meeting and reports from government agencies. At 2:20 p.m., Dr. John Patterson, executive director of Producer Education, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, will present "How does rain, green grass and the urban consumer affect me as a cattleman?" At 5:30 p.m., we have social hour, the banquet starts at 6:30 p.m.

Learn the science and skills needed for homebrewing beer at the Silt Branch Library from 1-3 p.m Saturday, Jan. 26. This Big Read event will be taught by a local award-winning homebrewer and president of the High Altitude Mashers homebrewing club. The demonstration will cover the creation of a popular beer style from start to finish sampling of a pre-made homebrew. All participants must be 21 years of age, or older. There is a limit of 30 individuals. To register, contact the Silt Branch Library at 876-5500.

Read a book. Rate a book. Redeem your reward. Rinse and repeat! This opportunity is for teens throughout the entire month of January at the Rifle Branch Library.

Not only do participants get to read new books and receive prizes for doing so, but they will be helping others learn about great reads, as all reviews will be posted on the library website and on the book itself.

Gallery 809 is featuring a "Winter Scenes Exhibit" throughout the month of January. It is a collaboration of numerous talented artists within the valley. The gallery is located at 809 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday. For more info, call 945-0809.
