"Let us each of us now embrace, with solemn duty and awesome joy, what is our lasting birthright. With common effort and common purpose, with passion and dedication, let us answer the call of history, and carry into an uncertain future that precious light of freedom." - President Barack Obama----------------------We are approaching the end of January in which we have been welcomed with beauty and grace into this new age of humanity, this new world that we are co-creating. We have survived the predictions and stories of doom concerning the Mayan Calendar. We have moved beyond the fear-causing stories of catastrophes and mass destruction. And for those of us sensitive to the shift that is going on, the awakening of consciousness, there is an unlimited amount of creative potential to tap into in this New Year. Our personal experience in this New Year will be directly related to the level of consciousness we are holding within ourselves. There resides within each one of us a divine presence, an evolutionary impulse that is just waiting for our awareness to blossom for it to express itself through us. When we are working "with a common effort and common purpose, with passion and dedication" toward unity and healing, we are causing an expansion in consciousness for ourselves and others. We do this through gratitude, appreciation and forgiveness. These qualities bring us into alignment with the highest good and chart our course toward unity and a healed world. When we find things in our personal experience to be grateful for and truly appreciate the beauty and goodness around us, we become generative in our expressions of that beauty and goodness. In other words, when we generate love from within through higher vibrational qualities like gratitude, appreciation and forgiveness, we expand that love into the world and send out loving energy to all of life.On the contrary, when we are still holding on to the mindset of separation, blame, judgment, fear and hatred we stay disconnected from the divine presence and evolutionary impulse within. We cause the lower vibrational expressions of human behavior to dominate our experience. This can be felt as outward conflict with people or situations or as inner conflict with an increased sense of unease.Whether we are aware of it or not, we are always in a state of service. There are two states of service - either in service to the self or in service to others. When we are in service to the self, we are only motivated by personal interests. When we are in service to others, we are motivated by the divine Self and interested in growing ourselves so that we can be of service to the whole. One is ruled by a sense of separation, the other by a sense of unity. Of course, the most fulfilling state is being in the state of service to our divine Self and all that is.If we choose to be in the state of service to our divine Self and all of life, our actions come from a place of unity and love. We sense that we are connected to all that is. We feel the evolutionary impulse at work in our lives and we act from our authentic self, generating kindness and joy and a desire for freedom for everyone. My challenge this week is for you to ask yourself the following questions: What is it that is seeking to emerge in your consciousness in this new age of our world? How do you continue with your own transformation so that you are a thriving, magnificent embodiment of your highest potential and therefore being of service to humanity as a whole? How will you move from the mindset of separation to one of unity?=====================Catherine Fenske, Ph.D. (c), is the owner of Live With Intention Coaching.
