Francesca Patricia Gillming

Francesca Patricia Gillming passed away Jan. 25, 2013, at the age of 64.

Frannie was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Leila Barrie and Francis Moffitt. Her life was spent between California and Colorado. Frannie received her BA from Loretta Heights College and her MA at Antioch University. As a Board Licensed Professional Therapist and Drug and Alcohol Counselor, she spent many of her years in the Roaring Fork Valley working for the Youth Recovery Center and Colorado West Mental Health. She also gave much of her time to the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Defiance Thrift Store, LIFT-UP, Advocate Safe House, and the Valley Sexual Abuse Program.

Frannie's early years in the valley were spent with her first husband, the late James Moorman, and their daughters, Barrie and Torrie, as well as Jim's daughter, Brynn.

Her second husband, Maurice Gillming, along with his daughters Erin and Ingrid, came into her life in 1987. Her heart was filled with love for travel, pets, and helping others, but had no greater love than that of spending time with her grandchildren, Silence and Asher. Along with the fore-mentioned family, she is survived by her brother, Richard (Linda) Moffitt, and niece, Kimberly Moffitt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved granddaughter, Darby.

A service will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs, Colo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Youth Recovery Center at Valley View Hospital. It would be her wish to continue assisting the program by supplying clothing and other basic necessities for kids in recovery.
