LETTER: America, the what?

How much more will it take for people to wake up?

We used to have a health care system that was the envy of the world. We use to have rights and freedoms. New laws slowly diminish those. We have a government that has squandered this country and created a debt that your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be paying. We have a retirement system that no longer benefits elderly. We have bureaucratic establishments that make life harder than it needs to be. We have an economy that has been declining for the last 40 years. They add fees and create security agents to keep us safe and no one seems to care that it is in direct violation of our Constitutional rights. Do we have rights or temporary privileges? What the hell is wrong with Americans? How can any of them passively accept what our country and its politicians have become?

We trust our country to corporations that have no interest in serving us. We have criminals in government that continue to make things easier for corporations. They piss on us without the courtesy of calling it rain and we passively accept it!

I, for one, learn more about how other countries and regions handle these types of things and it makes me want to move out of this country. It is an absolute lie to stand there and say we are the greatest country in the world when our people continue to suffer at the hands of the very government that is supposed to protect us and serve us. When was the last time the government really served you? What this country has become and the people that passively accept these atrocities makes me sick. Shame on you, America! I shouldn't want what other countries have!
