The Mesa County Treasurers office would like to remind individuals owing real and personal property taxes to ensure that their address has been updated with their office.
According to a press release from County Treasurer Janice Rich's office, some property tax statements have been returned due to the inability to deliver or lack of a forwarding address.
The release went on to quote Colorado law, "Failure of any person to receive such statement or true and actual notice... shall not preclude collection by the treasurer of the amount of taxes due from and payable by such person."
Rich's office invites all taxpayers to use their website, tresurer.mesacounty.us and click "Pay/View Property Taxes."
Property taxes are required to be paid in two equal installments, one due before the last day of February and the other before June 15, the statement said. Individuals paying their taxes in full must make a single payment before the last day of April.
