Thin dogs: At 8:23 a.m. on Jan. 25, Animal Control impounded three dogs in the area of Red Canyon Road (County Road 115). The dogs were two border collies and "heeler-type," all without collars and appearing "very thin for body condition," according to a report from the sheriff's office.
Stolen vehicle: At 1:40 p.m. on Jan. 27, deputies were called to deal with a stolen vehicle outside the Rifle city limits, in the area of Mustang Mesa Trail. No further info was available.
