Meredith Ethel Lander Cobb, age 35, of Glenwood Springs, CO, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Valley View Hospital following a long and courageous fight with breast cancer.
Meredith was born Feb. 16, 1977, in Tacoma, WA, to David and Gwendoline Lander and was raised in San Antonio, TX, where she had many friends and fond memories. Meredith moved to Colorado where she worked as a paralegal for several years. She married the love of her life, Dennis Cobb, on Feb. 22, 2002, in Cripple Creek, CO. In late 2003, she began her fight with breast cancer. Not being one to back down or give up, she began her work as a peer counselor and supported other women in the same situation for the Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization.
Meredith was a kind and compassionate soul who had a natural ability to provide comfort, love, friendship and support to others during their time of need. Above all else, Meredith cherished and loved her family and dedicated each day to spending precious time with those she loved. Her children were her greatest gift, loved beyond measure. She was an amazing mother and couldn't be prouder of her kids. She loved the beach, hot weather, animals of all sizes, and vacationing with her family.
Meredith is survived by her loving husband Dennis and her three children, Jourdan (16), Meghan (13), and Zackary (9); her mother Gwendoline Lander; and her brother David Lander. She was preceded in death by her father, David Lander. Meredith was blessed to have close family members who loved her greatly, and friends and fellow cancer survivors with her for life's many journeys. Private family services were held on Jan. 31, and burial was at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Feb. 4.
