Raised on a small farm in northern Lower Michigan, Joyce learned the value of working together as a family and the importance of the community and church pulling together during difficult times. She shares a poignant tale of her youth that may cause you to chuckle or bring tears to your eyes as you read about the good, the bad, the funny, the sad, and the mundane experiences that profoundly formed her character and identity. Childhood memories will be stirred in older readers, and children and younger readers will be amused at and educated in the reality of a simpler life and the lessons learned. A book signing will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Valley View Hospital in the upper lobby.
