The Rifle High School boys basketball C team is undefeated this year! Chad Robinson led the freshman team of Max Doose, Joe Kosht, Ty Lebya, Tyler Bosshardt, Cesar Mancinas, Luis Carreon, Morgan Robinson, Sergio Castillo, Wyatt Bornholdt, Avery Lujan, Elliot Krebill and Riley Gray.

I truly believe this young team and its coaches deserve recognition for all of their hard work, commitment and skills for the season. The success of this team has not only come from great coaching, but from the fact the young men have grown up together, some of them playing since they were in pee wee leagues.

I personally can attest to the character of each and every boy on the C team. They are all "good kids" - polite, well mannered, hard working and committed team members. Many of them are enrolled in the international baccalaureate program and have had to maintain a strict grade point average along with their intense basketball schedule of daily practices and routine games.

Our community of parents has helped greatly to shape these youth as well. Weekly, we have provided a team dinner and a breakfast where we serve every member of each team. This is accomplished by many volunteer parents, some more than others, planning, cooking, buying and preparing food for more than 50 young men and their coaches. We are very grateful to have local businesses who have donated to the endeavor, such as Basecamp Cafe, WingNutz, Martinez Construction and City Market. All and all, Rifle is an amazing community with dynamic teens and a very bright future. We're not just a podunk town or a bedroom community any more!
