Gary Clancy unexpectedly passed away at home in Rifle on Feb. 15. He was 69 years old.
Gary was born on June 28, 1943, to Jack and Mildred (Bailey) Clancy in Rifle. He graduated from Rifle High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army from February 1966 until February 1969.
Gary spent many years working as a mechanic. Gary always enjoyed the great outdoors, viewing wildlife, and had a very soft heart when it came to his pets, most recently, Misty.
In his younger years, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid snowmobiler. Gary also enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Rifle Senior Center and looked forward to calling the bingo games there on Fridays. Gary was always cheerful, talkative and loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed.
Gary is survived by his mother, Mildred Whitt, of Rifle; brothers, Ray Richardson of California, Jack and Dennis Clancy of Rifle, Bill Clancy of Colorado Springs and Lynn (Katherine) Richardson of New Castle.
Gary is also survived by nieces and nephews, Erin Clancy, Cory Clancy Sheridan, Amelia Richardson Dress, Jessie BivensDecort, Bernadette Richardson, Jason Clancy, Clifford Richardson, Michael Clancy and Elizabeth Richardson, as well several great-nieces and -nephews who will remember him fondly.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Jack Clancy; stepfather, George Richardson; and sister-in-law, Wendy Clancy.

Berniece Anna Armstrong, 82, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Fort Collins Health Care Center.
She was born at home on Roan Creek, near DeBeque, on Jan. 26, 1931, to John and Gertrude (Letson) Armstrong. She married Otis Murray, Jr. in Rifle on Sept. 5, 1948. They had two children, Connie and Russel, and lived for many years on Wallace Creek, south of Parachute.
Berniece returned to college in the 1980s and obtained her bachelor's degree in business administration from Metropolitan State University in Denver in 1985. She worked for six years for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, retiring in 2005.
Berniece was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy and Louis; and sister, Virginia (Blue).
She is survived by her brothers, Otto Armstrong (Grand Junction) and Harvey Armstrong (Silt); children, Connie Murray (Fort Collins) and Russel Murray (Denver); six grandchildren, Carl VanGorder (Tucson, Ariz.), William VanGorder, (Providence, R.I.), Chelsie VanGorder (Fort Collins), Katherine Murray (Berkeley, Calif.), Christopher Murray (Houston), Dr. Gregg Murray (Atlanta, Geo.); and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, at Grand Valley Methodist Church in Parachute.
